We are taking a quick trip to the Maggie Valley area to do some NC skiing and relaxing. I am trying to figure out a decent 2+ hour running route around here but we're not too familiar with running routes in this area, so I will be winging it. I'd like to go to Pisgah forest and run but ran out of time looking for routes in there last night. Skiing is tomorrow.
In other news, the OSB Group Triathlon Training Program starts next week. five coach-organized and led workouts per week. If you're in the Raleigh Cary area, check it out.
We are also hosting a beginner swim clinic sponsored by Trysports on Sunday, March 13. If you are looking for swim technique help but don't feel ready for a Powerstroke clinic, check this one out.
It is going to be a fun year as far as triathlon goes, I am looking forward to racing in the Masters division in the White Lake half in a few months and then sprinting through the summer.

Free swim clinic at USAT nationals in September
Bri and I along with Susan Williams will be hosting a free swim clinic on Thursday, 9.23 from 530-730 PM in Tuscaloosa Alabama on behalf of the USAT Women's committee. You can read all about it and sign up here.
I had a good but short visit with my in-laws in VA for my bro in laws 40th. Up till 12:15 playing Cornhole and drinking adult beverages, and then up the next morning at 6AM for a 5k swim in VB. That went well, it was a small turnout but nice conditions. There were big wave sets rolling through which made the swim interesting. I finished first in 1:00.25. There was a slight current and we had to swim into shore and back out at the halfway point as a safety check. 3 mile jog back to the start afterwards. I was real tired later in the day.
This weekend and next we get to stick around town which will be great. Jack Johnson concert on Saturday night. Bike riding.
That is all.

So on the business side of things, I've doubled our Google Adwords budget. There are certain key phrases that cost a bit more per click then what I had set as our daily limit default. They have an amazing program going on there (obviously). Word of mouth is still the best advertising for our coaching business, but a number of folks do find us through the search engines.
On the other side, for every $1 you spend on Adwords per month, Google waives fees on Checkout transactions up to $10. For example, if you spend $100 on Adwords in a month, you get the first $1,000 of Checkout transactions without the 2% transaction fee. The transaction fees take a chunk of change over time as I'm sure many of you with merchant accounts have realized.
The clinic this weekend has nearly filled up! We're going to record a lot of it and use some of the material in the upcoming DVD.

weekend update
Today I'm co-running an open water swim clinic with Dave Williams over at Crabtree County Park. The rest of the day will be spent working. Tomorrow we're racing in the Triangle Triathlon, which is just down the road from our house. After that we get to BBQ at one of our teammate's houses. Should be a fun weekend.
I set up a Feedburner account where you can now get these updates emailed to you if that's your thing. It's on the right.
