Talk radio
I made the mistake of listening to talk radio on Sirius today. First I listened to Patriot 144 (the conservative station) for a couple hours. Then I listened to Sirius Left 146 (the liberal station) for a while. On the conservative station they were taking Obama apart for sermons and comments his pastor has made. Lots of spliced sound bites and borderline ridicule. They said taxes are bad. On the liberal station they played and talked about the pastor's meta-commentary about his sermons. They said taxes are good.
I wised up and took Tassie for a walk. She just wanted to chase the squirrels. Much simpler.

Idiocracy
Last night while channel surfing, my stupid movie radar went off when I came across Idiocracy.
This movie is probably one of the dumbest things I've seen in a long time. The first five minutes were not bad. I was on the edge of my seat. If my seat was made of stupid. The next seventy minutes were the longest seventy minutes of my life. The movie was so powerfully dumb that it reached out into my living room, melted all my brain cells, and left me a helpless puddle of goo on the couch. I watched it to the bitter end, laughing uncontrollably in fits of disbelief. It may have made my "top ten things I've done to waste some time and will never get that time back" list. There were several moments where Bri had to leave the living room. She couldn't watch another minute. It was that bad. Luke Wilson is not quite as annoying as Owen Wilson, but he comes close. If you watch this movie, be sure to hit yourself in the head with a hammer first.

Bri at St Anthonys
I had a good time watching Bri and everyone else race here at St. Anthony's. Here's a video of Bri and her fellow tribloggers receiving their awards.
The men's pro race got blown apart early on as Matt Reed and Andy Potts broke away on the swim, then put 2 minutes into the field on the bike. Sarah Haskins soloed off the front of the women's field for the win.
Had a good time cheering for folks and then hanging out at awards afterwards. We're off to some sort of VIP party this evening.

Mad Dog Friday night party
We went to the Mad Dog Friday night dinner party yesterday and got to catch up with some of our buddies. The Mad Dogs to like to have a good time. Met a couple of the pro racers, one fella was from Hungary, so Bri encouraged me to share the one complete sentence of Hungarian I know. My second cousins taught it to me when we were over in 2006. The phrase (phonetically) is : "Ain keebooset Amerikanisch vodyok." Which means, "I'm a f*cking American, damn it." The fella got a good laugh out of it, then had to go stand 'over there.'
We also paid a visit to Shep's, the local beer grocery store with a heart of gold beer. They have an amazing collection of microbrews and world beers. I tried out a new one:
Lagunitas Brewing Company (Petaluma, CA) - Lagunitas IPA. It was OK but in the IPA genre there are plenty of tastier ones. IPA needs to send a kick of hops to the back of your throat. It needs to grab you by the neck and shove a grenade of sensation in your mouth. This one didn't do that.

St Anthonys Triathlon
We're off to St. Petersburg for the St. Anthony's Triathlon on Sunday morning. Bri is racing, while I'll be on the sidelines cheering, jumping, and mumbling incoherently to anyone who listens. It's always a good time down there. We have several athletes racing, and both the pro and amateur elite waves should be a good competitive show. We're going to hit the Mad Dog party on Friday night then have dinner with our athletes on Saturday. I might go for a run or a swim at some point. I may have a couple beers at some point. I would babble a little more here but you see that it's pure nonsense.
Going to ride with the Inside-Out Thursday night group tonight.
Bri wants me to start reviewing all the different beers I try.
Rocky Mountain IPA (Fort Collins, CO): Two tongues up.
Breckenridge Brewery Avalanche: Tasty and refreshing.

Google takes over the world
So if you haven't been keeping up with technology, Google is very rapidly taking over the world. Here are a few of the services I regularly use:
Google (Search)
Google Maps
Gmail
Adwords
Adsense
Google Checkout
Just signed up for:
Blogger
GrandCentralStation (Google internet phone system)
They know where I live, have direct access to my bank accounts and credit cards, can do analysis of my search methods, and read some of my email on a regular basis. I'm waiting for Google Investments and Google Mortgage Brokers.

The Pursuit of Happyness
Yesterday and today I watched this movie. We have a Netflix subscription and this one has been sitting in our house for a month. At 8.99 per month it's not a bad deal if you watch several movies a month. But for one movie it's not so good. That's another story. The movie was good. I didn't think it was overly sad at any point which is what I'd heard from some folks. It's about finding a dream and pursuing it to your fullest. Not a bad message. I swam and rode today. Blah blah blah.

Testing a new blog
We've had a few requests to get with the times and host a blog with subscription feeds, RSS, comments, and other things I don't understand, so here we go.
